How Did Racist VOW Joe Lanza Return After Being Canceled?
Have you ever noticed someone who was canceled and wondered how they return? That's the case with Joe Lanza, the owner of Voices of Wrestling. He was canceled for about six months a few years ago, leading to the question: who takes such time off? This is confusing, especially since he has a history many view as problematic, particularly his racist behavior.
A clear example of this can be seen in the tweet photo above, which shows some of his inflammatory comments. He made so many offensive remarks over the years that a compilation of his racist tweets was created, highlighting the impact of his harmful words on the community.
This raises important questions about accountability and the challenges public figures face when trying to improve their image after a scandal.
I never noticed this part until now while looking more closely at his words. If you examine his statement from that time, it shows a lot about how he thinks. He was never really sorry for being a racist; he only seemed upset because we saw his prejudice.
"I am sorry that people had to see those two slurs, and there is no excuse other than ignorance..."- Joe Lanza
This lack of true remorse shows a troubling reality of people with such beliefs, where their worry is not about the harm done but about facing consequences for being caught. This attitude highlights a bigger societal issue that complicates our view of accountability and the need to tackle racism seriously.
Here's a great tweet I saw while researching. This was 2021; Lanza disappeared for a bit, and now he's fully back in the community. How can that happen, though? We've seen people canceled for much less than being a psycho racist.
The answer is: he has powerful and similar racist friends like Sean Ross Sapp and Jimmy Van at Fightful Wrestling. Then there's Fight Game Media, BodySlam.net, and a lot of others, including fans like Buster here.
There's an X account named Trevor Dame that retweeted everything VOW, until I mentioned the racism, and then he or it stopped. I suspect it might be an alternate account of Garrett Kidney. Who's Garrett Kidney? He was the former TNA Wrestling Twitter guy and AEW mark, recently let go along with everyone from Team Scott D'Amore.
He's been fired before and then went back "home" to Voices of Wrestling, who are now bashing TNA like clockwork, LOL. The same thing happened last time he was fired. So they're racists and frauds—not a good combo.
But you're the ones enabling VOW and Lanza, not us! Keep that going and racists will always have a huge voice in Pro Wrestling. Similar to sex abusers in pw, it seems like many want them around.
