There Is Way Too Much PW This Weekend!
Yesterday dragged on like a relentless PW nightmare, stretching out to feel like an eternity. I endured three different pro wrestling shows that consumed what felt like 24 hours of my life. Initially, this was supposed to be a “top matches of the weekend” recap. But let’s be real—that's for the much more optimistic R-Dubs.
The WWE Great American Bash went down yesterday, and honestly, it was a blast—except for the cringeworthy moments when Booker T started rambling in that bizarre ebonics or whatever nonsense he calls a language.
The 2025 WWE GAB had a preshow that was utterly pointless—an exercise in PW tedium. It was the most excruciating pre-show I've ever endured. Two mind-numbingly dull individuals droned on for an entire hour, inflicting a series of cringeworthy videos upon us.
I should’ve flipped that switch off, but nope, I couldn’t resist—after all, I’m a PW journalist! My buddy R-Dubs insisted on watching and, as usual, his word is law. Then came the remnants of AEW All In Texas. It was decent, I guess, but let’s be real—fans will hype it as the greatest spectacle ever... until the next glossy event comes along and deflates their rave.
AEW fans really need to curb their enthusiasm; it's becoming unbearable. They incessantly parade their numbers around, completely oblivious to the fact that they don’t even register on WWE’s radar.
And let’s not forget—those numbers are as phony as a three-dollar bill, a fact the Network’s CEO has made crystal clear! Yet, they persist in clinging to the same deceitful figures spewed by the same two charlatans, who are in bed with a predator.
The night culminated in Saturday Night's Main Event, and it was glaringly obvious throughout much of the show that they were shoving it down our throats with videos and narratives—Goldberg was going down, no question about it.
That was a baffling choice, particularly for a show that only boasted three announced matches. Yet, shockingly, they added another one featuring Solo and Jimmy Uso, as if that was going to save the night!
It was absolutely my most detested SNME since its return. But tonight is Evolution, and thank the PW gods it isn't being forced on us in the afternoon! There was also ROH Supercard of Honor, AAA Verano De Escandalo, SmackDown was on Friday, TNA and Collision Thursday, etc, etc, etc,
Lastly, I've got to ask—what's the deal? All that PW hype and no Deonna Purrazzo in sight?!?! Seriously, what gives? Did she throw a punch at Tony Khan backstage or what? AEW can boast about having decent female wrestlers, but "The Virtuosa" is operating on an entirely different stratosphere and is being completely overlooked.
Wake up PW Gods! You're getting as lazy as Sean Ross Sapp on X!
