Team WWE NXT vs. Team TNA is Already a Confusing Disaster
A few months ago, the mere idea of a showdown between Team WWE NXT and Team TNA Wrestling set my soul ablaze with excitement! Now, faced with not one, but two Survivor Series-style matches, I’m drowning in a sea of frustration and disillusionment.
Mostly due to the female TNA team, compared to NXT’s. Let's jump right into that mess:
- Women's Team TNA: Kelani Jordan, Cassie Lee, Jessica McKay, and Mara Sade (Jakara Jackson)
- Women's Team NXT: Jacy Jayne, Lola, Jaida Parker & Sol Ruca
I can't believe I have to say this, but where do we start? It's clear there must be a reason for Tessa Blanchard's absence! What about former Knockouts Champ, Tasha Steelz, and the iconic Rosemary?
Mara/Jakara? She just left NXT! If they're making shifts like that, why not bring in #1 Contender Indie Hartwell? It's perplexing and disappointing.
They also changed the name from InVasion to the Showdown. That’s one of the most basic names in the history of a wrestling special.
The men’s situation is much better, but it’s hard for me to care after seeing the women. We’re talking about the Knockouts. Even haters used to agree that they had an amazing women’s division.
It’s kind of wild to witness this, because it is so similar to WWE with ECW and WCW. Using their own talent to make the other side credible.
The Men’s teams are much closer in terms of talent, producing a thrilling yet bewildering dynamic! With the TNA Men’s World Champion Trick Williams representing Team NXT and the KO’s Champ—a genuine NXT talent—leading Team TNA, it's very odd.
Men’s Team WWE NXT:
Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans and Myles Borne
Men’s Team TNA:
Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater
