Another Movie from The Rock and Another Box Office Bomb
Former WWE Champion and key player in TKO Group, Dwayne Johnson, is set to deliver yet another hit. The latest film from The Rock is projected to open with a paltry $6 to $7 million this weekend.
A very weak figure when set against the impressive $50 million budget. The prolific actor would benefit from....knowing his roles. Sorry, I shoehorned in his catchphrase where it didn't really fit, Rock needs to simply pick better roles and make less of them.
‘The Smashing Machine’ failure follows a line of similar bombs, such as "Red One," which impressively earned around $84 million despite a staggering $250 million budget.
Before that was Black Adam, which destroyed an entire DC Universe. Because Dwayne wanted to rush past logic (Shazam) right to Superman.
It was another bomb, though The Rock still refuses to acknowledge it.
He does have another Moana coming, and it looks like Jumanji 3 is a thing. So better times are on the horizon, I hope?
