AEW Adds Another Men’s Midcard Title, and it’s Confusing

I was watching AEW Dynamite last night, and overall, it wasn’t one of their stronger or more memorable episodes. They also decided to introduce yet another men’s Championship Title, or maybe re-introduce is a better word?

I'm still confused because this next message is from AEW, but the NWA still has a National Championship. I'm sure my friends at R/ProfessionalWrestling will explain it very nicely LOL no worries—I'm here to bring fans content and can handle the criticism.

"The National Championship is a storied, prestigious professional wrestling championship, representing the top prize in the NWA’s Georgia Championship Wrestling, one of the top wrestling promotions in the entire country. But the title hasn’t been seen on TBS since 1986.

This seems unnecessary, very confusing, and odd. A few months ago, Kazuchika Okada unified the Continental and International Championships. Now they're bringing back another mid-card title, that has the same name as a NWA title?

If life were a video game, Tournaments and Titles would undoubtedly be President Tony Khan’s signature moves.

Last night show was full of matches about who would get the advantage at Blood and Guts. It was almost everything I dislike about AEW: match, match, match, awful promos, match, match, match.

No MJF this week, but we did get promos from Ricochet and FTR instead. They are undoubtedly great wrestlers with impressive in-ring skills, but promo work isn’t their strong suit.

That’s exactly why FTR has a manager—someone who handles the talking for them, even if this particular manager (Stokely) doesn’t quite seem to fit their style or dynamic at all.

Super tough guys with an effeminate manager, that’s weird!

Here’s a quick look at the current AEW male singles champions.

  • AEW World Championship: Adam Page

  • AEW Unified Championship: Okada

  • AEW TNT Championship Kyle Fletcher

Why not just have a World Championship, then one mid-card title, exactly like the Women’s division currently has?

I can somewhat understand the reasoning behind having a third title. However, adding a fourth is simply too much and will likely dilute the importance of the existing belts.

Before I go, remember I’m just a blogger sharing my opinions, not claiming to be always right, and everything here is free for everyone.
