AEW Double or Nothing Was Longer Than Lord of the Rings… And That’s Not a Good Thing
AEW just dropped a 5 hour and 10 minute PPV (including the Buy-In). Let that sink in. That’s longer than the extended edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (4h 11m).
The movie that famously has like six endings and still feels epic. But here’s the difference: LOTR is a masterpiece.
A wrestling show should not be a endurance test. Fans are exhausted. By hour 4, half the audience is checked out. Matches that should feel massive get buried under too much runtime.
The card was stacked, but the length killed the momentum.
Wrestling PPVs used to be 3–3.5 hours and felt perfect.
Now we’re in “nothing should be this long” territory — unless it’s a cinematic masterpiece. AEW, take note: Quality > Quantity.
Trim the fat, tighten the show, and leave people wanting more… not checking the clock wondering when it’ll finally end. 5 hours 10 minutes.
TK Bro… come on!
