AEW Dynamite: The Darby Allin Spotlight Show - April 22, 2026 Preview
All Elite Wrestling is done with Spring Break Thru, and now it’s time for a “Darby Allin Spotlight Show”. It’s not an official AEW event — just our own take — with the new AEW Champion Darby getting multiple segments plus his first title defense as champ, we’re going to hear a lot from him!
It’s a transitional episode after last week’s chaos, so don’t expect a stacked card — more of a “let the new champ breathe and build some stories” night. Portland crowd should be rowdy though, and Ospreay/Davis is guaranteed to slap.
Check out the official lineup, my predictions, and our latest podcast below. #AutismAwareness
AEW Dynamite: The Darby Allin Spotlight Show Preview
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa
(Darby’s first defense. Ciampa probably just wants to know why this guy keeps showing up with thumbtacks in his pockets.)
Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis
(Two guys who actually want to wrestle while the champion is probably hanging upside down from the rafters somewhere.)
Mina Shirakawa vs. Hikaru Shida
(A banger that’ll get overshadowed by everyone wondering where Darby is.)
We'll hear from the new AEW World Champion, Darby Allin
(Expect cryptic promos, possible blood, and at least one mention of death.)
Over/Under bets for the night:
Number of times Darby appears on screen: 6.5
Number of hoodies destroyed: 2.5
How long until Tony Khan calls him “the heart and soul of this company”: Under 12 minutes
