AEW Dynasty 2026 Was Awesome… But Jesus Christ, Why Are These PPVs So Fucking Long?
I loved AEW Dynasty! Straight up. The wrestling was fire, the moments were there, and Okada fucking around mid-match had me dying laughing. Hysterical stuff. But I still had to turn it off before the end because I was literally passing out.
And I know I wasn’t the only one. My boy R-Dubs never taps. Ever. The man has the pain tolerance of a cyborg!
But put him on an AEW PPV and suddenly he’s tapping out like everyone else. Coincidence? Nah. Those shows are just way too damn long!
They had 13 matches (or whatever the final number was) and the card ran damn near 4.5 hours.
Nobody needs that. Not the wrestlers, not the fans, not the people trying to watch it live without turning into zombies at 1 AM.
Even MJF basically said the same thing recently — these shows are bloated and don’t need to be this long.
Trim it down! Cut a few matches, tighten some others, and Dynasty would’ve been damn near perfect.
As it is, it was still a really good show that I mostly loved… I just couldn’t finish it without my eyes forcing themselves shut.
AEW keeps delivering great wrestling.
They just need to respect everybody’s time (and sleep schedule) a little more.
