American Gladiators Reboot – Episode 1 Review (Prime Video)
Rating: 8.8/10 – It just feels right.
WWE’s The Miz is the perfect chaotic host. The real game-changer? The Gladiators are actual stars — especially the pro wrestling crew.
Kamille (Hurricane) looked unstoppable, Mr. Pectacular (Steel) was a walking highlight reel with insane charisma and power, Rick Boogs (The Bull) brought the energy, Wardlow (Fang) was a monster, and J-Rod (Supernova) added even more athletic flair.
Classic games like Joust and Powerball delivered nostalgia, new ones were fun and chaotic, and that Eliminator is still brutally hilarious.
The pro wrestling infusion gives the show the larger-than-life personalities and in-ring athleticism the originals sometimes lacked. This is exactly what it needed.
Mr. Pectacular especially steals scenes — Big Brother legend turned TNA Champion turned Gladiator. Absolute star power.
