Can AEW Really Be Compared to WWE Right Now? Let’s Be Real…NO!
Out of nowhere the “AEW vs WWE” debate pops off again… and nah, it’s not even close on a business/global level.
WWE is running laps:
Massive Netflix deals, stacked international TV rights, consistent house show sellouts, global tryouts (shoutout to the UK class going on right now), NXT pipeline, and that mainstream machine energy.
They’re not just a wrestling company anymore — they’re a full-blown entertainment powerhouse.
AEW? They put on some banger matches and have a dedicated fanbase that loves the style.
Credit where it’s due — they’ve created a real alternative. But financially, attendance trends, international reach, and overall scale? It’s not the same league.
The constant “this is a real rivalry” talk (especially from Dave Meltzer types) is wild when the receipts show one company operating like a giant and the other fighting to stay healthy as the clear #2.
WWE isn’t just winning — they’re in a league of their own right now.
So here’s my message to Dave, Sean, Alba and all you other frauds — start using your heads…
