Why is 40-Year-Old Matt Cardona in “Developmental”
Last night, Matt Cardona beat Josh Briggs in a WWE NXT match. He also wrestles for TNA, NWA, and other independent groups. Cardona’s latest Indy match was for Wrestling Atomic, founded by a child pornographer and currently owned by a church arsonist).
I still don’t get it: Why would anyone want to work at that awful place? I can’t see any good reason for someone to choose that, except for shady ones.
My next question is quite similar: Why exactly? Is there truly that much interest or genuine demand for Cardona at this particular stage in his career? It honestly seems difficult to believe.
My final question is, Why NXT?
The artist still widely recognized by most fans as Zack Ryder has now reached the age of 40. Meanwhile, NXT continues to function primarily as a developmental territory designed to prepare talent for the main WWE roster.
Why is he even there? How does this fit into the bigger plan? Who wants this much Matt Cardona in NXT? I doubt many, but if you do… please stop! Go watch old Zack Ryder stuff, nothing changed except he was somewhat entertaining back then.
