Cena’s Last Match: Trump Might Show Up. Fans Already Mad.

Cena’s Last Match: Trump Might Show Up. Fans Already Mad.

Logan Paul was on his podcast, casually dropping the kind of sentence that breaks wrestling Twitter in half: “Trump might come to Cena’s last match.”

That’s it. Seven words. And half the internet immediately started typing paragraphs about why this would “ruin everything.”

Let that sink in.

We’re talking about John Cena. 17 world titles. 23 years. The undisputed biggest full-time star WWE ever created.

His final match might have a former President of the United States in the front row.

And somehow, some of you are mad.

Not “huh, that’s interesting” mad.

Not “I wonder how they’ll play it on TV” mad.

Full-blown “this is DISRESPECTFUL to the business” mad.

The same fans who spent $400+ on WrestleMania tickets to watch:

  • A YouTuber turned boxer (Logan Paul himself) steal the show with a frog splash off the top of a cage

  • A Grammy-winning rapper (Bad Bunny) get a bigger pop than half the roster

  • An Olympic gold medalist turned Hollywood movie star (who literally can’t wrestle) main-event the biggest show of the year

…are now drawing the line at the President, who is a WWE Hall of Famer, sitting ringside?

Make it make sense.

This is the same fanbase that lost their minds (in a good way) when Mike Tyson punched Shawn Michaels in 2007.

The same one that marked out when Floyd Mayweather broke Big Show’s nose.

The same one that still talks about the time Snoop Dogg did a splash on The Miz like it was the second coming.

But God forbid someone who’s actually been the most famous person on the planet for a decade shows up to watch the most famous wrestler on the planet say goodbye.

“He’s just there for attention!”

Brother, it’s John Cena’s final match. Many will be there for attention. That’s the entire point.

trump cena

The irony is delicious. The loudest voices complaining about “keeping politics out of wrestling” are the same ones who spent years telling us celebrity involvement was “good for business” when it was someone they liked. Suddenly the rules changed the second the celebrity wasn’t on their approved list.

Newsflash: WrestleMania hasn’t been “pure” since 1985, and it never will be again. It’s a circus. It’s supposed to be a circus. The biggest stars, the brightest lights, the most ridiculous moments—that’s the entire brand.

If Donald Trump (or Taylor Swift, or Jesus Christ himself) wants to sit front row for John Cena’s final match, that’s not “ruining wrestling.”

That’s the biggest possible spotlight on the biggest possible moment for the biggest star the industry ever produced.

And if that bothers you?

Maybe ask yourself why you’re cool with a YouTuber and a rapper main-eventing… but draw the line at this.

Enjoy the show marks.

It’s gonna be historic either way.

(And yes, before you ask—I’ll be there too, probably marking out like an idiot when Cena’s music hits for the last time. With or without whoever’s in the front row.)

Because at the end of the day, it’s still John Cena’s night.

And nobody—not a president, not a celebrity, not even the loudest complainers on Twitter—can take that away from him.
