Claudio Castagnoli Wins CMLL World Heavyweight Title

AEW

AEW Star Claudio Castagnoli, an integral member of the notorious and dastardly Death Rider faction, achieved what could very well be the most significant victory of his entire career last night, securing the prestigious CMLL World Heavyweight Championship and marking a major milestone in her wrestling journey!

The former Cesaro from WWE managed to take down Gran Guerrero, securing only his second World Title across any wrestling promotion in his entire career.

Which is quite surprising and frankly represents poor booking decisions by nearly every promotion involved, except for CMLL and Ring of Honor, where he had previously held the World Championship twice.

Congratulations to one of the most underrated wrestlers alive today, Claudio Castagnoli, better known as Cesaro. No matter which name you call him by, he is undeniably just as impressive and remarkable in the ring.

Cesaro became the CMLL World Champion at the Viernes Espectacular event on November 28, 2025. This highly anticipated event was held live on YouTube, broadcast directly from the iconic Arena Mexico in Mexico City, attracting wrestling fans from around the world.

What does this mean for the future of AEW and CMLL?
