El Grande Americano Face Turn? LFG!
Last night at Lucha Libre AAA World Wide’s Guerra De Titanes, WWE’s El Grande Americano once again proved why he is considered an all-time luchador legend. He came up on the losing side in the main event, teaming with Dominik Mysterio against “Dirty Dom’s” father Rey and Rey Fénix in a hard-fought, memorable match.
But more importantly — and surprisingly to many — Grande shook hands warmly with living legend Rey Mysterio after the match, sharing a brief, respectful moment in the ring.
Many say the unthinkable happened; I always thought it was inevitable. I mean, just look at him — he’s wearing an American mask, front and center. Land of the free and home of the brave, or at least that’s the image he wants everyone to see?
OK, let’s get a bit more serious — Grande is currently portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser, who stepped into the role after Chad Gable was sidelined by injury. With Gable expected to make his comeback soon, we could be on track for one of the most entertaining feuds in recent memory.
EL Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano! Think of it like The Undertaker vs. The Undertaker, only this time it promises to be anything but lame. With the possibility of multiple Grandes appearing, decoys and all, it could turn into an absolute blast.
