Gunther Just Threatened to End Michael Cole's Career!
Gunther has officially entered his "villain arc" boss level, and the latest casualty? The man who's been calling WWE matches since the invention of the microphone—Michael Cole—caught in the crossfire.
During tonight's WWE Raw, the Ring General dropped a promo that hit harder than one of his chops. Tired of "old-timers chasing moments," he scanned the announce table, locked eyes with Cole, and delivered the line that broke the internet:
"Talking about old timers, I think you fall in that category as well. Michael, how long do you plan to stick around here and chase another moment? Funny thing is I could kick that chair over and end your career right now..."
He didn't do it... yet. Instead, he gave Cole a stay of execution so he can sit at Royal Rumble and call the moment AJ Styles' career gets "ended."
Because nothing says mercy like forcing a 50+ year-old broadcaster to narrate his own impending doom.Let's be real: Michael Cole has survived worse than a pissed-off Austrian powerhouse.
Survived Stone Cold Stunners while still calling the match.
Survived being buried under tables by basically everyone in the Attitude Era.
Survived the 2010s when WWE thought "Cole Mine" was good commentary.
Survived Pat McAfee joining the desk (that's a burn on both of them).
But Gunther? That man chops people so hard they forget their own names. If he actually kicks that chair, Cole's career ends faster than a Monday Night Raw main event in 2026.
(Gunther staring into Cole's soul like "Your retirement package is about to be expedited.") So, farewell, sweet prince of play-by-play? Or is this just another tease before Gunther moves on to threatening Corey Graves next?
One thing's for sure: if Cole starts every sentence with "OH MY!" in a higher pitch than usual on Saturday, we'll know he's living on borrowed time.
