Jesse Ventura Calls US “3rd World” Over ICE Shooting – He’s Right, But…

WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura went full promo mode yesterday (Jan 8, 2026) after visiting his old high school in Minneapolis. He ripped into the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good—a U.S. citizen, mother, poet, and writer—by an ICE agent on Jan 7 during a massive immigration enforcement op in the city.

Ventura called the U.S. a “third world country now,” slammed President Trump as a “draft-dodging coward,” praised protesters for standing up (saying he’s “proud” of them for teaching kids about the Constitution), and even teased running for governor again. He called the shooting a “tragedy that did not have to happen.”

I have to agree with Jesse on the core point—this is chaos in our own backyard.

A mom shot during what started as a routine encounter (she was reportedly there caring for neighbors or observing), conflicting orders from agents, bystander videos showing the car moving slowly/trying to leave, and no clear threat visible in the footage.

Local leaders like Mayor Jacob Frey (“get the f*** out of Minneapolis”) and Gov. Tim Walz are furious, calling the self-defense claim “bulls***.” Eyewitnesses say she was just trying to get away, and the whole thing escalated way too fast. It’s heartbreaking, and it does make the country feel broken right now.

That said, ICE’s overall mission isn’t all bad—they do important work taking down the real monsters.

Under the current admin, they’ve ramped up arrests of “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens: child rapists, violent abusers, murderers, drug traffickers, and human traffickers.

Here’s a real example of ICE’s work on the positive side: In August 2025, they rescued 27 victims, including 10 children under 12, from a brutal trafficking ring in Nebraska.

These operations protect families and communities from actual predators. The problem is when things go wrong—like this shooting—accountability and better training need to step in so tragedies like Renee Good’s don’t happen again.

This feels like a grudge match that spiraled out of control: ICE is trying to clear the ring of bad guys, but when the ref (oversight) misses calls, people get hurt.

What do you think? Agree with Jesse that this is unacceptable?

Think ICE’s tough enforcement is still necessary despite risks like this?
