Killer Kross Finally Wins a World Title… Kinda? It’s MLW.

In a stunning display of endurance, former WWE guy Killer Kross entered at #1 in MLW's Battle Riot VIII, outlasted 39 other wrestlers (including some actual names like Matt Riddle and Dijak), eliminated champion Mads Krule Krügger, and is now your 2026 MLW World Heavyweight Champion.

Cue the confetti. Or don't. It's MLW.

Killer Kross: MLW World Champ (January 29, 2026 – Present)

After years of brooding in WWE, getting repackaged, released, repackaged again, and released again, Kross has finally reached the pinnacle of... Major League Wrestling.

He went wire-to-wire in a 40-man over-the-top-rope chaos fest. Impressive stamina. The kind of performance that screams "I still got it!" to the 347 people who bought tickets (and the 12 who showed up).

Now he holds the belt that once belonged to guys like Jacob Fatu, Alex Hammerstone, and that one time Low Ki defended it in a bingo hall.

Prestige level: Questionable.

But Let's Be Real

Look, we're happy for Kross. Really. The dude's scary, has the clock tattoo, the ominous entrance music, the whole "apocalypse now" gimmick. He deserved a big win after WWE treated him like a hot potato.

  • But... it's MLW. This isn't winning the WWE Championship on WrestleMania.

  • This isn't even grabbing the AEW strap in front of 20,000 screaming fans.

This is winning the belt in a promotion where the biggest story last year was whether Court Bauer could afford another YouTube upload.

It's like becoming prom king at a school with 50 students—half of whom are homeschooled. Congrats, you're the coolest kid in the boiler room.

What It Means

  • For Kross: Fresh start, new merch sales (probably), and a chance to defend against whoever MLW can book next. Maybe a rematch with Riddle. Maybe someone from AAA. Maybe his own reflection in an empty arena mirror.

  • For MLW: A recognizable name on the poster! Viewership might spike to a solid 4,000 on YouTube.

  • For the Wrestling World: Zzzzz... wait, did something happen? Oh right, Kross won in Orlando. Cool, back to scrolling.

So raise a glass (or a lukewarm energy drink) to the new MLW World Heavyweight Champion, Killer Kross. Because in the grand scheme of pro wrestling titles, this one's basically the "Participant" ribbon at the county fair.

But hey—he's got the belt, the reign, and the Twitter congrats from six accounts. That's something. Kinda.

WWE fumbled Kross. AEW probably wouldn't book him for more than six weeks.

MLW said "come get your flowers"... in a half-full rec center.

And he took 'em. Respect the hustle.
