The face of TNA Wrestling wants the iconic six-sided canvas back where it belongs.
During a recent appearance on I Love Wrestling, TNA World Champion Leon Slater talked shop ahead of his upcoming title defense against Trey Miguel at Destination X on November 15.
While the return of Destination X alone is massive—bringing the flagship pay-per-view back for the first time since 2017—Slater made it clear there's one major old-school staple he’s personally hoping makes a comeback alongside it.
"I was just praying that the six-sided ring would come back, to be real," Slater admitted. "And I don't know if it is, I don't know if it isn't. But man, I hope it does because I'm sure like you, growing up a TNA fan, that's what we loved, right?"
The New Face of the Franchise
At just 21 years old, Slater represents the absolute pinnacle of TNA's present and future. He's the man carrying the gold, putting on the most exhilarating matches in the company, and proving week in and week out why he’s the top star in the building.
Naturally, even he acknowledges the legendary physical toll that comes with wrestling inside six sides of steel and canvas.
"To get the chance to compete in a six-sided ring — as much as people said it sucked back in the day, and it’s way harder and it hurts way more than a four-sided ring — and that hurts enough, trust me," Slater said. "I would love the chance to be TNA World Champion and wrestle in a TNA six-sided ring."
Listen Up Carlos Silva and Crew!
If you're TNA management—and with whispers of outside eyes like WWE keeping tabs on the young prodigy's meteoric rise—you listen to your world champion.
To be the man, you've gotta beat the man, and if the man says he wants to defend that TNA World Championship inside a six-sided ring at Destination X, you give the people (and the champ) what they want.
Destination X goes down November 15 live on PPV from Edmonton, followed by tapings in Calgary on November 18 and 19.
