Matt Hardy Explains Pro Wrestling to FTR Bald

Matt Hardy Explains Pro Wrestling to FTR Bald

We’ve got a bit of a social media war going on, and it’s embarrassingly one-sided! Arguably one half of the greatest tag team of all time, TNA Tag Champion Matt Hardy, fired back at the AEW bald FTR guy, who seemingly prays to Dave Meltzer every morning.

FTR Bald thinks Dave’s Fake Stars matter more than becoming a real star like Matt and Jeff, who never wrestled for Fake Stars, they wrestle for FANS.

I know his wrestling name is Dax Sheppard, I mean Hardwood, whatever. That’s why I usually call him FTR bald. First off, getting a name that sounds straight out of a wrestling name generator is painful for me as a fan.

They’re awesome wrestlers, don’t get me wrong, and have even become more developed characters lately. Still, I can’t help but laugh at them teaming with Stokely — he’s just hilariously out of place. Dax can speak for himself; he doesn’t need a mouthpiece.

FTR can have never-ending five* or six* or even 12* matches, but nobody outside the wrestling bubble really knows about or cares.

I know how much AEW fans love numbers, so let’s get to those! The Hardy’s net worth is 15-17 million, FTR is 2-6 million.

That includes royalties for Matt’s Broken and Woken gimmicks. I’m pointing that out because Jeff is Jeff — one of the biggest pro wrestling stars ever — and his legacy matters here. I truly believe he can win the 2026 Royal Rumble, and most fans would love it because he’s Jeff f-n Hardy.

But Matt’s Broken Universe?! That is gold — past, present and future gold — a creative well that keeps paying off. I’m guessing we’ll see it return soon, especially after they just ran into The Righteous from ROH, who bring distinct, larger‑than‑life characters that seem tailor‑made for a Broken Universe revival.

Matt Facts? I could go on and on. The Broken One might be the most creatively gifted person in all of professional wrestling, constantly reinventing the art form.

Do I even need to mention the insanely long lines they ALWAYS get at conventions, and how they ALWAYS stay until the last fan is gone? Their dedication is remarkable, and they are legends in so many ways.

In terms of titles, they might be comparable, but in every other respect—charisma, innovation, storytelling—FTR are little leaguers next to the Hall of Fame Hardy Boys.
