MJF Fires Shots at NJPW: 'Not a Real Company' in Shocking Promo

If there is one thing Maxwell Jacob Friedman knows how to do, it is how to kick a hornet's nest from a safe distance.

In a brand-new video promo, MJF took direct aim at New Japan Pro-Wrestling, delivering a scathing indictment of the promotion. Flaunting his self-proclaimed "Triple B"—the AEW World Championship belt he firmly believes he never actually lost—MJF didn't mince words:

"Folks, New Japan Pro-Wrestling isn't a real company. The fact that fans think it matters in 2026 is laughable... Every top star you have ever had has left."

Better Than NJPW?

True to form, MJF used the platform to look past NJPW's current landscape and directly target Ryohei Oiwa, setting his crosshairs on a potential cross-promotional clash.

While the initial social media chatter might have some fans confused about the timeline—especially with Oiwa's upcoming IWGP Heavyweight Championship pursuit against Yota Tsuji on the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling tour—MJF has clearly thrown down the gauntlet.

Whether New Japan management or Oiwa decides to bite remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: MJF has officially injected himself into the international title picture, completely on his own terms.
