Major League Wrestling (MLW) just rolled through the Melrose Ballroom in New York City for a massive set of MLW Fusion television tapings, and the fallout is going to shake up the promotion.

The iconic Opera Cup tournament officially kicked off its first round with some highly anticipated clashes and a few massive surprises:

  • Diego Hill advanced by defeating Anthony Greene.

  • Austin Aries picked up a major non-title victory over MLW World Heavyweight Champion Tracy Williams to advance.

  • Trevor Lee moved on in the tournament after defeating CMLL superstar Mistico via a dramatic count-out.

  • Ikuro Kwon secured his spot in the next round by defeating Andrew Everett.

  • Big Damo won a battle of the big men, taking down Wolfgang to advance.


Championship Fallout

The MLW World Middleweight Championship was on the line in what was reportedly a stellar lucha libre showcase.

Templario successfully defended his title against Soberano Jr., continuing his dominant run as champion.
