The Most Ridiculously Fun NJPW Match of the Year Just Happened
New Japan Pro Wrestling held a Falls Count Anywhere on the School Grounds bout yesterday, October 17, 2026, during Tachi’s School Pro Wrestling 2.
El Desperado & Toru Yano took on Gedo & Yuto-Ice.
What followed wasn’t just a wrestling match. It was pure, unhinged, glorious schoolyard chaos that somehow felt both completely illegal and absolutely perfect.
Yuto-Ice decided the best weapon on the grounds was… a tire. Not one tire. Multiple tires.
He started hurling them with the form of a professional discus thrower (the official NJPW account basically crowned him the pro tire-throwing champion on the spot).
One nearly took someone’s face off. Another smacked Yano clean. The crowd lost it, similar to myself when coming across the highlights.
Then the fight did what every childhood fantasy promised: it spilled into an actual classroom.
Chalkboard erasers became weapons. Clouds of chalk dust filled the air like some kind of low-budget smoke bomb. Grown men in wrestling gear and a tracksuit were swinging erasers at each other while one guy lay on the floor like he’d just failed a pop quiz in the most painful way possible.
The photos look so absurd that half the internet immediately went “this has to be AI.” Spoiler: it was 100% real.
And of course, because it’s Toru Yano, someone eventually got launched onto a thumbtack-covered board. The whole gym collective “EH?!” was reportedly one of the best moments of the night.
Final score: Desperado & Yano got the win after about 20 minutes of pure mayhem. But the real winner was everyone watching.
More Of This Please NJPW
This is the kind of match that reminds you why you fell in love with pro wrestling in the first place. Not the technical masterpieces (though those are great too).
The ridiculous, creative, “are they seriously doing this?!” energy that only Japan seems willing to fully commit to.
Taichi threw a homecoming party at his old school and somehow produced one of the most joyfully stupid matches of 2026.
Absolute cinema. Do not sleep on the replay on NJPW World.
