Punk & Roman: “Hug It Out, Bitch”- Raw Before WrestleMania Felt Like WWE Main Event
Final go-home before WrestleMania 42 and it was pure WWE Main Event energy: four quick midcard-style matches (including the same women’s tag teams doing the exact same lazy interference formula… twice), reheated segments from last week, and zero star power from host John Cena.
Then the one match everyone cares about—Punk vs. Roman—closes the night. Instead of fireworks or a brawl, they trade vulnerabilities and basically tell each other how much they “get” each other.
I half-expected Punk to hit us with the Michael Scott classic: “We don’t gotta wrestle, Roman… we need to do one thing… hug it out, bitch.”
It never felt like the Raw before WrestleMania.
Just another episode that ended with a long, awkward staredown while I sat there thinking, “Wait… that’s it?”
Triple H, throw us a bone next time.
