It is the same sh…I mean script every single time.
First came PWInsider dropping an "exclusive" reporting that WWE’s Shawn Michaels was locked in as the sole successor to take over Bruce Prichard’s executive creative role.
Naturally, the rest of the dirt-sheet aggregation ecosystem copy-pasted the headline within five minutes, locking parts of the discourse behind monthly subscription paywalls for good measure.
Then came the inevitable walkback….or to put it bluntly (as I smoke one): PWI guessed wrong.
Another Swing and Miss from Mike Johnson!
The Wrestling Observer chimed in less than 24 hours later to clarify the actual plan: Prichard’s duties are currently slated to be split between Ed Koskey on administration and Bobby Roode, largely because pulling HBK full-time onto the road would strip him away from his vital work running NXT.
This comes right on the heels of another classic paywalled "update" from Fightful Select regarding WWE Crown Jewel.
Subscriber dollars were traded for assurances that everything in Saudi Arabia was proceeding smoothly on schedule, right before actual security alerts and missile defense interceptions were reported over Riyadh.
When fans pay monthly subscriptions for insider scoops, they expect verified facts—not half-baked succession rumors and corporate press releases disguised as breaking news.
Gas and food prices aren’t high enough, they need to rip us off when it comes to “pro wrestling news”? FU Access Media.
This has been part two, we’re really enjoying tracking failure!
