Rey Fenix Finally Gets His Moment – New AAA Champion After an Absolute Banger
Rey Fenix just did what most of us have been waiting years to see. In one of the most electric matches of the night at AAA Noche de los Grandes, Fenix tuned up the band and delivered a picture-perfect Sweet Chin Music straight out of HBK’s playbook to Laredo Kid… and walked out the new AAA World Cruiserweight Champion!
Amazingly, and sadly, it’s his first title since 2023, when he held the AEW International Championship, earlier that year he won this same AAA title, making him a 2x AAA Cruiserweight Champ.
Fenix is one of the most decorated high-flyers of his generation with well over a dozen titles across promotions.
He didn’t just win the title; he stole a show…that just started!!!
The match itself was everything you want from high-level Lucha Libre meets WWE-level production: crisp, chaotic, and full of heart. Fenix was firing on all cylinders — the flips, the precision strikes, the charisma that makes arenas lose their minds.
Let’s be real for a second. Pretty much everyone in the wrestling community has said it for years: Fenix should be booked better.
The guy is a generational talent — an incredible athlete, a natural babyface with undeniable star power, and one of the most consistent performers on the planet, someone who elevates every match he’s in.
Yet too often in his WWE run he’s been left floating in the midcard or used in ways that never fully let that supernova talent shine.
Tonight? Boom. There we go. WWE posted the highlight (that superkick clip is already going nuclear), and the reaction across social media says it all.
The wrestling world has been waiting for Fenix to get the rocket strapped to his back, and it looks like the company finally listened.
