Rey Mysterio Returns on Raw to Confront Dominik
WWE Raw is currently live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and the atmosphere in the arena is absolutely electric, with the crowd going completely insane as I type these words. I have to admit, I marked out myself when the living legend, Rey Mysterio, made his much-anticipated return to the ring!
Now 50 years old, the former WWE Champion stepped into the spotlight once again and confronted his son Dominik, who has impressively become a double champion, holding both the Intercontinental and AAA Mega Championships.
The elder Mysterio made a dramatic return just as Dominik was boldly proclaiming himself to be the greatest Luchador of all time. With a calm but firm tone, he responded by saying, “As long as I’m around, I’m the king of Luchadores… and no matter what, you will never, ever be the greatest Mysterio.”
His words carried the weight of experience and legacy, which angered “Dirty Dom”, who took a cheap shot. Sadly for him, it ended with Dom on the wrong side of a 619 and the legend won the night.
I’m guessing and hoping this development sets up an exciting match at SummerSlam. However, it could also be a storyline that fits better on a AAA show, so we’ll have to wait and see how it unfolds in the coming weeks.
Raw is currently streaming simultaneously on Netflix and the USA Network.
