How Can TNA Bound for Glory Have SO Little Buzz?
Today is TNA Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, and it’s packed with WWE NXT Superstars, yet surprisingly, there seems to be very little buzz surrounding the event. It’s quite wild how rarely I’ve seen this show being discussed by people within the wrestling business, as well as fans alike.
Before we continue, take a look at this fantastic BFG preview by our pal Kristian Thompson who writes for TJWrestling.
This is Bound for Glory, one of the company’s premier events, featuring a strong lineup of WWE NXT talent, so it begs the question: what exactly is going wrong here?
I think I know! Most TNA fans originally became TNA fans precisely because they strongly dislike WWE and wanted something different. Then, one day, they wake up and realize that WWE seems to be all over TNA in some way! And somehow, they’re supposed to be happy about this?
Not only that, but now they’re also expected to keep up with WWE NXT on top of everything else? It’s a lot to ask from fans who just wanted an alternative.
This is like the Marvel Cinematic Universe now, but TNA started from a much weaker position. The MCU was hugely popular, while TNA was struggling at the bottom. Now TNA is even lower while teaming up with WWE. It seems strange, but true TNA fans will understand.
Something President Carlos Silva never cared about….true TNA fans.
