TNA in Freefall: Maclin & Myla Grace Released, Santana Reportedly WWE-Bound

TNA Wrestling just took another body blow to the roster — and the timing couldn’t be worse. On June 7, 2026, TNA officially announced that they have come to terms on the releases of former World Champion Steve Maclin and Knockouts wrestler Myla Grace, effective immediately.

Maclin, who requested his release the week prior, put in five hard years with the company — winning the TNA World Title, becoming a two-time International Champion, and putting on wars that helped keep TNA relevant.

In his own words on X, he thanked the fans and the promotion while making it clear he’s ready to “start stacking bodies” elsewhere.

Myla Grace, also asked for (and received) her release. She had been with TNA since mid-2025 and was already branching out on the independents.

And the bad news doesn’t stop there.

Fightful Select / WrestleVotes is reporting strong WWE interest in current TNA World Champion Mike Santana.

Multiple sources indicate WWE wants him on the main roster before the end of 2026, with his TNA contract reportedly up in July.

Santana has been one of the few bright spots in TNA’s recent run — a homegrown star with charisma, in-ring fire, and real momentum as champion. Losing him would be massive.

This isn’t an isolated incident.

TNA has been bleeding talent for months. Between contract expirations, creative frustrations, and whatever is happening behind the scenes, key names keep walking out the door.

Maclin’s exit follows a very public (and awkward) on-screen spat with TNA President Carlos Silva earlier this year.

Fans have not been shy about connecting the dots.

Just days ago, the replies under Silva’s own posts were flooded with “Resign,” “Change creative,” and straight-up “You’re killing TNA.”

The product has drawn heavy criticism since the AMC move — sliding ratings, repetitive booking, and a feeling that the show has lost its spark.

The Bottom Line

When your President is catching direct heat from fans, your former World Champion is leaving after requesting release, and your current champion is being linked to WWE… it’s not a great look.

TNA has the AMC deal. They have history. They have some solid talent still on the roster. But right now, it feels like the ship is taking on water faster than they can bail it out.

What needs to happen next? A serious reset in creative? Better talent retention? Clearer vision from the top? The fans are screaming for change.

The question is — is anyone at Anthem (owners of TNA) actually listening?
