It’s a massive day for TNA Wrestling! We’ve got some major news coming out of the locker room that’s going to shake up the landscape of the promotion.
Rich Swann is Staying Put!
As first reported by the Daily Star, Rich Swann has officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling!
Swann, a cornerstone of the company since 2018 and a former World, X-Division, and Digital Media Champion, confirmed the news earlier today.
In his comments, Swann made it clear he’s fully committed to the TNA brand, noting that he loves the direction the company is heading and is excited to continue working alongside rising talents like his tag team partner, BDE.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the move. Swann has been a workhorse for the X-Division for a long time, and while I’ve been vocal about my frustrations regarding how that division has been handled, having a veteran of his caliber locked in is huge.
He’s a former World Champ, an "X guy" through and through, and a guy who clearly takes pride in the TNA locker room. Here’s hoping he finally gets that Grand Slam status he’s chasing!
Nemeth vs. Hardy: A Main Event for the Ages
If that wasn't enough, TNA also dropped a bombshell regarding the July 30th live edition of iMPACT!
Nic Nemeth will defend the TNA World Championship against Jeff Hardy at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia! This is a first-ever singles match between these two legends for the World Title.
Jeff Hardy has been a massive draw for as long as I’ve been watching this business. He has that "it factor" that is impossible to replicate, and frankly, I think he deserves another run at the top.
Seeing him face off against the current champ, Nic Nemeth, in a city as wrestling-obsessed as Philly is exactly the kind of marquee matchup that brings eyes to the product.
