Tony Khan's 'AEW Fans Spend THE MOST' Claim is BS – No Proof, Pure Hype!
Look, I'm an AEW fan for life—been watching since Day 1, bought the PPVs, went to a bunch of shows, etc. But Tony Khan needs to STFU with this "AEW fans have the highest average monthly streaming video spend of ANY sports league in the world" nonsense.
He drops it in every interview (TMZ today, Helwani last year, All Out media scrums), says it's from "third-party analytics" in media rights talks... and then? Crickets. Zero public numbers, zero breakdowns, zero independent verification.
It's all private, unverifiable spin—exactly like Meltzer's made-up backstage "reports" that always conveniently favor AEW.
The ONLY metric that actually matters is the bottom line, and the gap is embarrassing.
WWE (TKO) just dropped their 2025 financials: $1.709 BILLION in revenue for WWE alone—up huge from 2024, thanks to monster deals with Netflix, ESPN, etc.
AEW? Independent estimates (Wrestlenomics, the most reliable source out there) peg 2024 at around $168 million (mostly TV rights), with maybe $244–269M projected in coming years if nothing changes.
Even Meltzer-types admit profitability might finally hit in 2025, but that's still peanuts next to WWE's empire.
Tony, stop bragging about invisible "per-fan" stats when Dynamite's doing 619K viewers and a 0.09 demo (down big).
Ratings are tanking, but instead of fixing booking, building stars, or growing the audience... we get more hype about how "loyal" and "avid" our fans are (while they quietly cancel subs?).
Work harder. Get in WWE's universe on equal footing. Prove it with real growth, not ghost data.
