Top 5 Classic WCW PPV Names That AEW Should Bring Back

I’m a huge fan of AEW— like a lot of wrestling fans I follow multiple promotions — and they put on some pay-per-views with great names and atmosphere.

But wouldn’t it be cool if they dusted off a few classic WCW PPV names and brought them back for a modern twist?

That’s what my Latest Top 5 is all about — you can find the rest of them linked, plus our newest podcast episode for more discussion. #AutismAwareness

Top 5 Classic WCW PPV Names That AEW Should Bring Back

  1. AEW Revenge: wouldn’t just be about championships — it would focus on brutal paybacks, long-standing grudges, and settling scores once and for all in the ring.

  2. AEW Capital Combat: It’s time for AEW Capital Combat to be reborn. Bringing back this name from the 1990 WCW event would give AEW a strong, hard-hitting PPV identity.

  3. AEW Hog Wild: AEW should bring back Hog Wild, honoring the 1996 WCW classic. It would be a perfect high-energy summer PPV full of wild, no-holds-barred action.

  4. AEW Starrcade: AEW Starrcade needs to make its PPV debut. As one of the most legendary names in wrestling history from WCW’s classic era, it would be a huge moment — and Tony Schiavone would definitely be proud to see it return.

  5. AEW Bunkhouse Stampede: AEW should introduce Bunkhouse Stampede as a brand-new PPV. Reviving this chaotic, anything-goes concept from the 1988 NWA/WCW event would deliver one of the most unpredictable nights of the year.
