No Excuses: Trump’s Racist Obama Post Isn’t Trolling—It’s Poison
I’m no liberal. I’ve walked away from the left as they’ve gone off the rails on a lot of things—overreach, identity obsession, endless excuses. I’ve criticized Obama’s policies plenty myself, from foreign policy missteps to domestic overregulation.
But this? Trump reposting that video on Truth Social turning Barack and Michelle Obama into apes?
That’s straight-up vile racism, the exact same dehumanizing trope that’s been weaponized against Black people for centuries—slave traders, segregationists, lynch mobs, all the way down the line.
And do you know HOW many pro wrestling outlets have covered this? ZERO. He’s the U.S. President and a WWE Hall of Famer, Linda McMahon sits in his cabinet — it’s undeniably a pro wrestling story, yet they’re all ducking it because they don’t want to “take a side.”
At this point, though, there are two clear sides: ordinary humans and the racist animals who still align with this sociopathic, racist president.
It’s not “edgy.” It’s not “trolling” or a clever meme.
And don’t give me the “he didn’t see the whole thing” line. He posted it late Thursday night, it sat there for roughly 12 hours, got hammered with backlash from Democrats, civil rights leaders, and even his own party (Tim Scott called it the most racist thing he’s seen out of this White House)
Only then did they delete it and blame some unnamed staffer. Then Trump himself goes on Air Force One and says he only watched the beginning (the voter fraud part), “didn’t make a mistake,” won’t apologize, and basically shrugs—“I wouldn’t like it either, but I didn’t see it.”
Come on. If you’re the president reposting something, you own it. You don’t get to play “oops, staffer” and then act like it’s no big deal when the racist punchline lands square on the first Black president and first lady—during the first week of Black History Month, no less.
You can attack Obama’s record, his decisions, his legacy all day. Plenty of us have. But this isn’t critique.
This is petty, jealous, personal garbage from a guy who’s still obsessed with 2011 (the birth certificate stuff), 2016 (the roastings), and the fact that Obama still looms larger in cultural memory than almost anyone.
It’s not about policy—it’s small, resentful, and it drags the whole conversation into the gutter. With the power he holds now? He can’t keep getting away with this. No excuses, no “both sides do it,” no “but the media overreacts.”
The video was racist. Sharing it was wrong.
Deleting it after the fact doesn’t erase it, and refusing to apologize while mumbling “I didn’t make a mistake” just makes it worse.
We have to be better than this.
It’s time for his most loyal followers to stop making excuses and act like adults—call it what it is, demand better, and stop pretending this kind of crap is harmless “owning the libs.”
It’s not. It’s poison. Just no.
