After over a year immersed in the disgusting parts of the indie and pro wrestling scenes, it's moments like this that remind me why the good ones stand out so brightly.
Mick Foley—hands down one of the absolute best humans in PW, maybe ever—stepped up big time with a heartfelt post calling on the wrestling family to rally around Brian Knobbs during his tough health battles.
Foley described Brian as a true legend, an 'inimitable force' that even other legends talk about, and he's putting his own skin in the game by auctioning his shirt off his back plus merch from his upcoming #40YearsOfFoley shows to help out.
The GoFundMe (set up to support Brian through medical needs, recovery, and stability) has seen incredible support from the community, but there's still room to keep pushing forward.
In an industry with its share of challenges, seeing someone like Foley lead with heart and integrity is truly inspiring.
Wrestling family looks out for each other, the good ones, no matter how many bad ones there are—let's keep that going for Brian!
And please understand how incredible Mr. Foley is, how lucky we are to have him as part of our community. A comment called Mick a “Saint”, I think he may need a stronger term.
