WWE Main Event 7/23/26 Review
For anyone hunting down the absolute best way to spend forty minutes of wrestling without sitting through a three-hour broadcast marathon, WWE Main Event remains the gold standard. Zero filler, no endless video packages, and straight to the business of bell-to-bell action.
Tonight's (July 23, 2026) lineup features a fascinating cross-section of the roster: Giulia going toe-to-toe with Kiana James, Wendy Choo stepping up to tangle with Ivy Nile, and a tag team showcase pitting Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux against American Made.

Giulia def. Kiana James
Grade: B-
Opening with what felt and wrestled very much like a main-roster SmackDown match, this started with a solid back-and-forth before Kiana James completely took control. Let's give credit where it's due: Kiana has gotten so much better in the ring.
She completely dominated about 90 percent of this match, putting on a clinic and looking like an absolute star. Giulia kept trying to fire up, but couldn't get anything going—it was a noticeably slow-paced bout with unusually sparse offense for Giulia, which felt a bit odd.
Just when it looked like Kiana's showcase all the way, a quick knee out of nowhere followed by a sudden finisher let Giulia steal the win. A strange dynamic that built Kiana up heavily only to pull the rug, but an interesting watch nonetheless.
American Made def. Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux
Grade: B+
This right here is why Main Event is essential viewing. First you get a main-roster TV feel, and then you get a tag team showcase featuring four guys who desperately need more television time.
The crowd started out completely dead—largely suffering from fatigue after watching much bigger names earlier in the night, which is fair—but these four talents actually managed to wake the building up and get the fans invested.
It started as a slow, methodical technical match before picking up heavily at the end. Sean Legacy was flying all over the place before getting cut off and grounded by the heels.
The finish saw Julius Creed interfere from the outside to shove Legacy off the top rope, allowing Brutus to roll right in and pick up the win over Dux inside. Fantastic effort from all four men to turn a cold crowd around.
Ivy Nile def. Wendy Choo
Grade: B
Note: Ivy is really good, the exact same story as every single week—at this point, just give her a Main Event championship! Joking aside, this was genuinely one of the best matches we've seen from Wendy Choo, likely brought out of her thanks to the crisp, high-level pacing set by Ivy.
Wendy brought her unique offense, but Ivy's relentless execution and conditioning closed the deal once again. She's a standout performer, but let's hope she eventually gets rotated up to Raw or SmackDown where she belongs.
Final Verdict: B-
Tonight's episode wasn't the absolute peak of the series, but clocking in at a brisk 32 minutes across three solid matches with zero bloated filler, it remains well worth your time.
A slightly puzzling opener with Giulia and Kiana, a hard-earned showcase by the tag teams to wake up a cold crowd, and another stellar performance from the mainstay Ivy Nile proved that even an off-night for Main Event beats a three-hour marathon any day of the week.
