Zero Title Changes on AEW Dynamite: Ciampa Debut, Andrade Banger & MJF Promo Saved It
I was practically poised to rage-quit after AEW Dynamite (Jan 28, 2026)—three title matches, zero changes. Again. So let’s start by breaking down those matches and why none of the belts moved.
AEW TNT Title
Mark Briscoe (c) def. El Clon → Schoolboy after dodging Portal Bomb. Clon destroyed—no-sold/absorbed Jay Driller, popped up, rolling solebutt/Pelé kick, step-up Asai moonsault to floor.
Crowd flipped huge; me and my pal R-Double chanting “come on Clon!” Turned the place… still lost.
Brutal AF.
AEW World Tag Team Titles
FTR (c) def. Mark Davis & Jake Doyle → Death Riders interference (Mox belt shot), Shatter Machine pin on Davis.
Doyle tore bicep mid-match—new team’s momentum DOA.
AEW Women’s World Title
Kris Statlander (c) def. Thekla → Wednesday Night Fever retention. Thekla pushed hard, looked killer, but no win.
Champions all safe. They could’ve dropped without issue; rising talent needed those wins way more.
Positives
• Tommaso Ciampa debut post-Briscoe: Lights out, “Psycho Killer,” stare-down, cheek kiss, “I’m coming for that.”
“Holy shit!” chants. Collision match set. Killer fit for AEW chaos.
Andrade vs. Swerve
The main event was a 15-min PW clinic (tornillo, moonsaults, poisonrana, House Calls, low blow mule kick distraction into The Message win). Pushes Andrade vs. Omega next week for title path.
Absolute banger… but it’s Andrade, so we’ll forget in a week 😂.
MJF/Brody King Promo
MJF roasts Brody for following Malakai, Buddy, then Bandido, offers a job but needs aesthetic fix—
“Never in my life have I met a liberal man who looks more like a Nazi.” Brody laughs his ass off 🤣.
Sets up Eliminator Match next week. Savage, hilarious heat.
Mixed Bag
Ciampa pop, Andrade fireworks, MJF line of the night were awesome, but men’s division bloated (100+ signed vs. WWE’s ~70-80 main roster).
How many no-frills badasses before consistent breakouts?
Tony teases pushes (Clon streak, Thekla challenge, Davis/Doyle rise), then retains/protected losses. Keeps ’em hot for WWE jumps?
Killer spots/crowd flips wasted.
