Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton Feud is Awful, Boring, Lame, Dumb, etc
Remember when professional wrestling used to be about a six-foot-eight giant screaming into the night sky and literally flipping a semi-truck over just because he was mad? Most feuds consisted of wrestlers who (kayfabe) hated each other.
Compare that to where we are now, where we get a feud built around the thrilling anatomical debate of whether Cody should kick Randy Orton in the head.
It’s amazingly dumb.
Everything about this current WWE program is awful, bogged down by analytic, inside-baseball bullshit and whatever lame-ass meta-story they’re trying to tell.
It feels like AEW on roids—pandering straight to the Internet Wrestling Community in a self-referential feedback loop that completely alienates casual viewers.
And for what? They’re making Cody look so goddamn weak.
Sure, he’s still somehow incredibly over right now, but that goodwill isn't going to last if they keep forcing him into this wishy-washy, over-analyzed nonsense.
Even if this whole mess is secretly building toward a heel turn, there are a million better ways they could have handled it without neutering his character.
Give me Braun Strowman flipping an ambulance over a courtroom drama about concussing your mentor any day of the week.
