Sit Down, Conrad: Why Calling Roman Reigns "Overrated" Misses the Mark Entirely

Roman Reigns standing in a WWE wrestling ring wearing a traditional red lei necklace and wrist tape, staring intensely at the camera.

Let's address the latest piece of wrestling discourse making the rounds: Conrad Thompson taking aim at the "Tribal Chief" narrative, going so far as to call Roman Reigns arguably the most overrated main eventer in WWE history and even throwing around the term "industry plant".

To put it bluntly: Not the time, bro.

The Reality of Roman Reigns

To claim that Roman’s fortune wouldn’t change WWE if he disappeared tomorrow ignores everything we’ve watched over the last several years.

  • Ridiculously Over: Roman is massively over with the live crowds, commanding arenas in a way very few in history ever manage.

  • The Ultimate Heel: He operates masterfully as an evil heel, anchoring the company's biggest storylines with absolute dominance.

  • Incredible Match Quality: Anyone trying to rewrite history after legendary, high-stakes performances—like that incredible SummerSlam match—is simply ignoring what’s right in front of them.

Look in the Mirror, Podcaster

It’s especially rich coming from Conrad Thompson, who manages to insert himself as the co-host of seemingly every other wrestling podcast on the airwaves.

Let’s be honest about the listening experience: Most of us don't even tune in for him. We're just waiting for Conrad to wrap up his talking points so we can actually hear from the important guy sitting across from him.

Calling out the biggest star of a generation while dominating half the podcast feeds in professional wrestling? Maybe it's time to sit this one out, and take care of your wife.
