The Insanity of It All: A TNA Guy Just Got a WAY Better WWE Sendoff Than John Cena

The Insanity of It All: A TNA Guy Just Got a WAY Better WWE Sendoff Than John Cena

Wrestling world, what even is this timeline?

AJ Styles — the guy who defined TNA/Impact for years before jumping to WWE — just got one of the most emotional, goosebump-inducing farewells on Raw.

Picture this: he leaves his gloves and jacket in the ring in Atlanta, legends (WWE and TNA peeps) lining the ramp paying respect, tears flowing, and then BAM — The Undertaker walks out to personally announce he's heading into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame Class.

It was sudden, raw, and hit super hard. Compare that to John Cena's retirement: a full year-long farewell tour with tons of matches (shoutout to their Crown Jewel clash), but for a lot of fans, it felt drawn-out and less punchy in the end.

Cena got the big buildup, but AJ's surprise moment? Way more touching and unified.

Full transparency: I'm a massive AJ Styles fan. The dude is straight-up one of the greatest in-ring performers ever — technical wizard, high-flyer, can steal the show with literally anyone.

Never been huge on Cena (total respect for the legacy, but AJ's style just clicks harder for me).

So yeah, I'm loving that he got this spotlight.

But from WWE's side? Super weird and kinda insane. A homegrown franchise face like Cena gets the long tour, while a TNA original who crossed over and elevated the product gets the more heartfelt, roster-wide tribute?

It's backwards... but honestly, awesome for AJ.

Anyone else think AJ's sendoff topped Cena's?

Or am I just biased? Drop your thoughts!
