Former WWE Champ Jack Swagger Just Got Knocked TF Out by Mahabali Shera
You literally cannot make this stuff up.
If you told a wrestling fan five years ago that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger (Jake Hager) and former TNA powerhouse Mahabali Shera (Amanpreet Singh) would face off in a legitimate combat sports arena, they’d assume it was for a random indie show in front of 50 people.
Instead, it happened at Power Slap 21 in Las Vegas—and it ended with Shera absolutely erasing Swagger from consciousness.
The Shift from Round 1 to Round 3
To give Hager some credit, he almost had it wrapped up early. In Round 1, "Rock Hard" Hager unleashed a massive slap that sent Shera crashing to the canvas. It looked like the former collegiate All-American was cruised to an easy night and a 2-0 record in Dana White's slap league.
But you can never count out the man who got the entire Impact Zone doing the "Shera Shake."
By the third round, Shera got his revenge in the most violent way possible. Stepping up to the podium, Singh loaded up and delivered a picture-perfect, nuclear-powered strike straight to Hager's jaw.
Hager didn't just stumble; his equilibrium was completely deleted. He hit the deck hard. To his credit, the former Bellator MMA fighter showed insane toughness by scrambling back to his feet, but his legs were pure spaghetti.
The referee took one look at Hager's survival-mode stumble and waved the fight off.
No Takedowns to Save You
The irony of Hager's Power Slap career is that he is an elite, world-class amateur wrestler. In WWE or MMA, if he gets hurt, he can shoot for a double-leg takedown and buy time to recover.
But Power Slap has one golden rule: you have to stand there, hands behind your back, and take a 270-pound man's best shot right to the chin.
With this loss, Hager drops to 1-1 in the promotion. Meanwhile, Mahabali Shera walks away with one of the most viral combat sports highlights of the year.
