First Matches set Lucha Libre AAA "Verano de Escándalo"

WWE and Lucha Libre legend Rey Mysterio just shared some exciting updates for the upcoming Verano de Escándalo event.

This came after another strong episode of AAA television, free on YouTube, which wrapped with “Dirty Dom” Mysterio dramatically saving El Grande Americano!

Below is a breakdown of Rey’s announcements and a quick look at what to expect at Verano de Escándalo.

  • A Three-Week Event: Starting July 25, the tournament will be a three-week televised spectacle, featuring a marquee main event every single week.

  • Championship Match: Following his recent victory, Mini Vikingo will face Rey Fenix for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.

  • Triple Threat for the Title: Flammer will defend her title in a female triple threat match against Lady Shani and La Catalina.

  • Mixed Tag Team Action: La Hiedra is determined to reclaim the mixed tag team titles. She will team up with Laredo Kid to face Joaquín Wilde and the legendary Faby Apache, who is making her AAA return.

    The winners will go on to challenge Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice at Verano de Escándalo.
