“Can’t Miss” Ricky Sosa Set for TNA Wrestling IMPACT Debut
Okay, real talk: I knew literally nothing about Ricky Sosa until I saw TNA hyping his debut this week. Scrolled through some clips and profiles, and now I'm locked in for Thursday night iMPACT! at 9/8c on AMC.
If you're like me and this name is new, here's the quick rundown that's got me pumped. The dude is only 21 years old (born December 2004), stands a solid 6'4" at around 209 lbs, and goes by "The Young Savage".
He's Belgian (some sources say Netherlands-born, but he's repping Brussels vibes), and he's been tearing up the European indie scene since debuting in 2021–just four years in, and he's already current wXw European Champion in Germany.
That's not nothing. What really hooked me? His entrance.
It's this viral French rap track energy with the crowd straight-up exploding into "BANG BANG! SOSA SOSA!" chants. Braids, chains, swagger for days—it's got that street/hip-hop flair that feels fresh in wrestling right now.
Even Mark Henry shouted him out as a future star that “can’t miss!”
Dude pulled out of a big European tournament just to chase this TNA shot. Respect.
He already popped up at TNA's Atlanta tapings last week (March 5-6), did his thing on Xplosion (their secondary show), and the crowd ate it up. Tomorrow night is the big one—his official iMPACT! debut on national TV.
No clue who he's facing or what TNA has planned, but if the hype is real, this could be the start of something big for international talent in the company.
I'm tuning in tomorrow anyway, but the energy around him feels electric. 21, athletic high-flyer/power mix, viral crowd connection, and TNA seemingly going to push him hard?
Yeah, I'm sold. If he delivers, we might be watching the next breakout star, like another 21-year-old….X-Division Champion, Leon Slater.
