Grateful for the Spotlight – And Some Heartwarming Words from East Orlando
Huge thanks to Orlando Voyager for the recent "Meet" feature—it's wild to see my story out there. From getting hit with an ALS diagnosis at 19, to finding strength in workouts and turning a wrestling passion project (WrestleVoice.com) into a real platform for good.
It's evolved to include autism awareness shout-outs (huge props to our writer/lead podcaster Richard Robles (R-Double) and his mom for keeping that front and center), investigative work on industry accountability, and just trying to do things the right way.
None of this happens solo—shout-out to my co-owner/best friend Larry Altuna for holding it down on the day-to-day. We're a small crew making noise where we can.
The piece has sparked some really kind feedback, especially from neighbors in the Avalon Park/Waterford area of East Orlando.
They've been super supportive of the reporting and community focus, even giving me an "Honorary Neighbor" title last year—more civic props than a lot of locals get, apparently!
(They were playfully offended I mentioned Disney as a favorite spot—guess I gotta rep East O harder next time.)
Hearing encouragement from people who are dealing with real local challenges, all while I’m up here in New York navigating my own struggles and obligations, means the world to me.
It carries extra weight, especially when it comes to a particular person I’ve been investigating and writing about—someone they know very well.
Together, WE created Files that have already changed pro wrestling for the better. Those were small wins, but every movement starts somewhere — and that was only Part 1 of a much bigger story.
(It’s a private group, that’s why it’s posted like that)
Feedback like what I just got from CrimeWatch Orlando Avalon Park Waterford is fuel to keep going: #FightALS, #AutismAwareness, and shining light on what matters.
I get why they don’t agree with everything I do — I don’t agree with myself on every move either. This is a nasty, dangerous job, and I’ve put myself up against a world full of cruel, powerful people.
So I’m truly sorry if I piss off anyone who’s on the good side, but doing things my way, has managed to get a lot done in a surprisingly short amount of time. Unlike ANYONE, who came before me.
Also, NOBODY knows the full story, or even close. This danger showed up at my front door, more on that coming soon. #RanceFiles
