TKO Is Crushing WWE Talent With Up To 50% Pay Cuts – And The Rest Of Wrestling Let This Happen
Reports are floating around that TKO is hitting WWE talent with major pay cuts — some as high as 50% — and more releases are coming down the pipe. Of course they are.
I fucking hate it, but let’s not act surprised. TKO has all the power right now and they know it. They’re not stupid.
Why keep paying veterans big money when they can cut the fat, bring in cheap, hungry bodies, and push the ones they’re actually creating from scratch?
Look at Sol Ruca.
Never paid a single indie dues, straight out of the PC system, and she’s already getting pushed like she’s the future.
Same with Oba. Same with Meghan Walker and a bunch of others they’re building right now. These aren’t battle-tested wrestlers who grinded the independents for years — these are TKO’s homegrown projects.
Cheaper. Easier to control. Molded exactly how they want.
And yeah… it sucks. It feels cold. It feels like they’re treating wrestlers like interchangeable parts instead of people who bled for this business.
But here’s the part that pisses me off even more: Every other promotion let this happen.
AEW, TNA, GCW, every “alternative” out there — they all sat back and let WWE/TKO become this unstoppable machine. They couldn’t create real stars consistently enough to force WWE to actually compete for talent.
They couldn’t build a strong enough alternative so these wrestlers had real options. So now TKO holds all the cards and they’re playing them exactly like a corporation that answers to shareholders.
Pay cuts? Releases? More young, green talent getting fast-tracked while veterans get squeezed? This is what happens when one company has all the leverage and nobody on the outside can do a damn thing about it.
I hate TKO’s vibe. I hate how corporate and soulless it feels. But I’m not gonna sit here and cry about it like it’s shocking.
