WWE Main Event Review and Results– May 7, 2026

Real talk before we get into tonight’s show: I used to think WWE Main Event was pretty pointless — just like I initially felt about WWE Speed. Man… I was totally wrong on both!

Main Event is actually really cool because it gives actual TV time to talent that doesn’t normally crack Raw, SmackDown, or even NXT much. These wrestlers get to cook in front of the cameras instead of staying buried in the mid-card shadows.

There’s also matches like tonight’s with Raquel and Maxxine, bigger names, getting more in-ring time. That mindset shift has me watching with fresh eyes.

WWE Main Event: May 7, 2026 Results

  • Fenix def. Berto (w/ Angel Garza)

Always awesome seeing Fenix. I’m still shocked he’s not absolutely killing it on the main roster right now. This was a really fun, fast, back-and-forth high-flying match.

I didn’t realize Berto was this good — he pulled off some sick counters and hung right there with Fenix. Rey was just on another planet though — running ON the ropes and flipping around like it’s a video game.

Absolute highlight reel stuff. Clean win for Fenix to kick off the show.

  • Raquel Rodriquez (w/ Roxanne Perez) def. Maxxine Dupri

Maxxine was surprisingly in control against the former 5x Tag Champ Raquel for a good chunk of the match. But Roxanne popped up for a distraction, and then again later — the numbers game proved too much for Maxxine.

Good stuff overall. Raquel stayed strong, and Maxxine was protected well by the cheating heels. Solid booking that keeps everyone looking credible.

  • Lyra Valkyrie (w/ Bayley) def. Ivy Nyle

This one felt more old-school. It started slow but really picked up toward the end. Ivy spent a lot of time working over Lyra’s bad knee, which was smart storytelling.

Bayley at ringside helped, and the crowd was noticeably louder for this match than the previous ones. Lyra pulled out the win in the end.
