Will Ospreay's Thank You to Paul Robinson Ignites Controversy – Dave & Sean Remain Quiet Again
AEW’s Will Ospreay dropped a big thank-you thread after EVE’s Wrestle Queendom 8. He shouted out his co-producers: Michael Oku, Nina Samuels… and Paul Robinson. Posted the photos (including the backstage trio pic) and everything.
Robinson? The same guy from the 2020 Speaking Out accusations — grooming and inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old wrestler in Germany.
He denied it was grooming, apologized for the situation, but a ton of people still see it as a hard line crossed.
The IWC exploded!
There are at least hundreds of quotes/replies calling it out, with fans straight-up saying things like:
“Ospreay is affiliated with a known creepo in Paul Robinson”
“You fucking loser”
“Admitted paedophile Paul Robinson is a producer with EVE”
This right after #RanceFiles exposed the same enabling patterns in wrestling.
But from the two biggest voices in wrestling media? Crickets.
Dave Meltzer? Nothing. Sean Ross Sapp? Nothing. Again!
Outlets that did pick it up: ITRWrestling (“Will Ospreay Under Fire For Working With Star Accused Of Grooming 16-Year-Old Female Wrestler”), TPWW.net (backlash coverage over the producer role and underage grooming accusations), plus Reddit threads on r/SquaredCircle blowing up with similar outrage.
I want to personally say thank you to each of those outlets and every single fan, who has spoken out.
This isn’t some random indie thing — it’s platforming on a big stage, post-IWD women’s empowerment event.
We’re not asking for pitchforks. Just consistency.
If you’re going to call out the dirt in wrestling, don’t go quiet when it’s convenient (or tied to certain circles).
The media can normalize a lot of crazy shit, don’t let them do it with pedophiles.
