WWE Backlash 2026 Updated Card and Thoughts

WWE Backlash 2026 Updated Card and Thoughts

WWE’s first major PPV after WrestleMania 42 heads to the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, May 9 for Backlash: Tampa. The event will stream on ESPN+ in the U.S. (first time for Backlash) and feature the usual Raw + SmackDown talent.

Check out the updated lineup below after tonight’s SmackDown, along with my thoughts on each match.

WWE Backlash 2026 Updated Card

  • World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu

Hard-hitting family drama. It’ll be fun, but Roman isn’t dropping the title here.

  • Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker (w/ Paul Heyman)

This could easily be Match of the Night. Physical as hell.

  • Iyo Sky vs. Asuka

Should have been on WrestleMania, they should tear it up.

  • WWE United States Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn

The feud has been rough with bad writing, but the match itself should deliver.

  • Tag Team Match: Danhausen & TBA vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson

Danhausen is growing on me heavy, but tag matches might still be tricky for him.
