Been Watching Wrestling Forever… And WWE Main Event? Holy Shit, It Doesn’t Suck!
I’ve been a wrestling fan for decades—seen it all, from the Attitude Era peaks to the Ruthless Aggression grind, through the PG shift and back to whatever wild era we’re in now.
But one show I almost never tuned into? WWE Main Event. It was always that “C-show” tucked away, easy to skip for Raw, SmackDown, or literally anything else.
Lately though, it’s been popping up right on YouTube, conveniently queued up just before Impact episodes start rolling.
So last night, I finally gave it a shot. Figured it’d be quick filler, maybe a couple of squashes, and I’d bail early.
…And damn, I was wrong. This thing was pretty damn good.
First match had me ready for a classic Rusev squash—big powerhouse vs. smaller guy, right?
Nope. Joaquin Wilde (from LWO) came out swinging early, turned it into a legit back-and-forth battle with some real fire. Rusev still got the win (Accolade, of course), but Wilde got to shine way more than I expected. Solid stuff, no complaints.
Then the tag match: Los Americanos vs. Motor City Machine Guns. Fun, crisp, high-energy exchanges the whole way through. MCMG doing their thing, the Americans holding their own—pure tag team wrestling joy. No slow spots, just good vibes.
And the main event? Otis. Who doesn’t love Otis? The guy’s a walking feel-good moment.
Alpha Academy vs. American Made had that chaotic energy with quick tags, big power spots, and the crowd eating it up. Caterpillar, splashes, the works. Ended on a high note that had me smiling.
Bottom Line
I went in expecting nothing and came out impressed. WWE Main Event on YouTube is low-key delivering solid, no-BS matches right now.
If you’re like me and wrote it off years ago, give the recent episodes a spin—especially that Feb 5 one. You might get hooked too.
