After Talent Cuts, WWE Drops Terrible NXT Episode - Fans Destroy New Guy

I’ve been saying it for months — WWE NXT is easily my favorite pro wrestling show right now. The talent is young, hungry, and the brand usually feels fresh compared to the main roster.

But last night’s (May 5, 2026) edition? They completely dropped the ball.

Darkstate and The Culling got full matches. Why? Who is out there asking for more Darkstate matches, or ever wants to see The Culling, outside of Izzie Dame.

Not every group needs TV time every single week, especially when the groups are awful and not many care.

They’s also had recent call-ups that simply don’t click with me, for example: what the hell is Lizzy Rain? Why is there a 80’s GLOW character on NXT?! Then this…

They brought back that big dude who still looks like a random fan who won a contest.

Scroll the comments anywhere — the majority are straight-up mocking him. He doesn’t look or feel like a wrestler, and it kills the immersion every time he’s on screen.

And IDGAF about being rude or whatever, WWE has shown us what WWE Superstars look like in 2026, and that dude ain’t that, and it’s not just me saying it!

The one saving grace was Kali Armstrong defeating Jaida Parker.

That match actually delivered — hard-hitting, competitive, and Kali looked like a future star with that Kali Connection for the win.

NXT has the roster to be must-watch TV week in and week out, but forcing this Evolve mixing and questionable booking is hurting the product.

WWE, get your shit together. NXT was cooking — don’t ruin one of the few things that’s still working.
